To become a bus driver, you need a CDL (commercial drivers license), a passion for being around school children, flexible hours, and you must be okay with entry level pay. That usually means starting between $14,500-$18,000. The school system tries to appeal to retired people who want good benefits, you’ll be part of the retirement system of Alabama.
